This Privacy Statement of Bouwmatcher BV (hereinafter: "Bouwmatcher", "we" or "us") explains how we handle personal data of:

• visitors to our website,
• persons who submit a quote request,
• users who create an account,
• customers who post a review,
• persons who subscribe to our newsletter,
• and anyone who contacts us (by phone, email or via social media).

We attach great importance to your privacy and process personal data only in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This statement applies to all processing of personal data by Bouwmatcher in the context of our services to private individuals and website visitors.

Please note: professionals who accept assignments via Bouwmatcher are themselves responsible for their processing of personal data.

When you submit a quote request, we use your data to match you with suitable professionals. By default, we match your request to a maximum of four companies, unless you ask us to approach fewer or more companies.

The professionals usually contact you by phone or email, and sometimes via SMS or WhatsApp. Bouwmatcher may also request additional information.

Processed data:

• Contact details (name, address, email address, phone number, gender)
• Project information (type of work, type of home, situation, budget)
• Technical data (IP address, device information, anti-fraud data)

When submitting a quote request, an account is automatically created. You use this account to track the status of requests, post reviews and submit new requests.

Processed data:

• Login credentials (email address and password)
• Data about your quote requests and status
• Reviews and communication with professionals

If you contact us (by phone, email, web form or social media), we process the data you provide to handle your question or complaint. We do this based on our legitimate interest to support you correctly.

You can voluntarily sign up for our newsletter. For this we only process your email address.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or via your account.

In addition, we send transactional emails about the status of your quote request. These messages are necessary and cannot be disabled.

In exceptional cases, we may be legally obliged to share personal data with authorities such as police, justice or supervisors. Data may also be used in disputes, evidence or in case of suspected fraud or abuse.

We use cookies and similar technologies to make our website function properly, analyze usage and – with your consent – show personalized advertisements. See our separate Cookie Policy for more details.

Bouwmatcher does not make automated decisions that have significant consequences for users. Matching a request to professionals is partly automatic based on work area and availability, but the choice of who you work with is entirely up to you.

We only share personal data if it is necessary for our services:

• With professionals who receive your request (maximum 4, unless you choose otherwise).
• With IT and hosting partners for management and storage.
• With marketing and analysis tools (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft) – only with your consent.

When third parties act as processors, we conclude a processing agreement. If data is processed outside the EU, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as EU standard contractual clauses).

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including:

• SSL-secured connections
• Access control and logging
• Encrypted storage on secure servers
• Confidentiality obligation for employees
• Regular audits and software updates

• Quote requests: up to 3 years after completion
• Accounts: as long as the account is active
• Reviews: as long as visible on the website
• Newsletter/marketing: until withdrawal of consent
• Invoices and legal retention obligation: 7 years

After these periods, data will be deleted or anonymized.

According to the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access
• Right to correction and deletion
• Right to restriction of processing
• Right to data portability
• Right to object, including to direct marketing
• Right to withdraw consent

You can submit requests via support@bouwmatcher.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we process your request.

Are you dissatisfied with our handling? Then you can file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).

We may amend this Privacy Statement in case of changed legislation or internal adjustments. The most current version is always available on our website. In case of significant changes, we will inform you actively.
